bieMEDIA COO Mike Osborne Appointed to Mobile Acuity’s Board of Directors

DENVER, Feb. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — bieMEDIA (www.biemedia.com), an online marketing and media solutions company, today announced that Mike Osborne, chief operating officer, has been appointed to Mobile Acuity’s (www.mobileacuity.com) Board of Directors effective February 1, 2012. Mobile Acuity is a leading technology company enabling interactive brand marketing campaigns using its Mobile Visual Interactivity™ platform. Osborne will serve as chairman of the audit committee.

“Mobile Acuity is taking customer interaction and engagement to new levels with mobile visual search,” said Mr. Osborne. “I am very excited to be joining the Board of such an innovative company as we evolve from bar codes and QR codes to mobile visual search as the industry standard for connecting customers with brands and products.”

Mr. Osborne has more than 20 years of technology management experience. Prior to joining bieMEDIA, Mr. Osborne founded OmniWerks Consulting Services, which focused on developing operational excellence at technology and communications companies. He also held several global operations roles in telecommunications and hospitality, led the development and deployment of competitive cable systems, as well as held leadership positions in product development and management at companies including iBAHN and Level 3 Communications.

Mobile Acuity’s Executive Chairman Chris Wade welcomed the appointment, stating: “The company will benefit from Mr. Osborne’s considerable international business experience and further it will drive the significant synergies in developing customer engagement solutions using Mobile Acuity’s Mobile Visual Search technology and bieMedia’s world class viral digital content solutions.”

This Board appointment follows bieMEDIA’s recent investment in Mobile Acuity making it the company’s largest shareholder, announced in January 2012. The investment underscores bieMEDIA’s belief that mobile visual search or “point and shoot” technology, which allows consumers to point at the product or advertisement, shoot a picture and receive information or option to purchase the product on demand, will emerge as the game-changer in mobile marketing and m-commerce. In fact, global retailer Tesco PLC has committed to working in partnership with Mobile Acuity to trial its mobile visual search application to further improve mobile discovery in-store, at point of sale and while on-the-go.
